Welcome to Behavioral Directions LLC
A Resource for Applied Behavior Analysis in Autism and Behavior Disorders

Behavioral Directions, LLC in Herndon, Virginia is an Autism consulting firm of leading behavior analysts and psychological professionals with extensive experience in Autism, serving individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, challenging behavior and related developmental disabilities.   We provide Autism assessment and intervention services in home, school and community settings.  We provide services in the Washington metropolitan area in Northern Virginia, specifically Fairfax county (only west and north of I-66) and Loudoun county.  All of our providers are full Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

We are committed to using only evidence-based procedures.  Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a methodology supported by over 40 years of research and based on principles of learning is utilized.  Skinner’s Analysis of Verbal Behavior, to promote communication and other skills, is emphasized in service delivery.  Quality control is important to us, so we maintain small caseloads to provide the contact and intensity required to see behavior change.

What is Autism?

"Autism is a neurobiological disorder that is characterized by impaired social interaction, communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior, all starting before a child is three years old.

Once thought to be very rare, autism spectrum disorders are estimated to occur in as many as 1: 66 (one in every 66 people)."

Navigating the right path following a diagnosis of autism or severe behavior disorder can be daunting.  It is important to quickly gain the skills necessary to sort out effective interventions from those with less solid or no support.  Guidance from a professional with scientific experience in this area is often helpful.
